Gabriella Lindholm was recently appointed the new ambassador of the marine environment, starting her work within The Ministry of the Environment in late September.
The marine environment, together with issues on climate, is a highly prioritized area in the environmental politics of the Government. An additional 665 SEK have been allocated, focusing e.g. on investments in the future management of predatory animals, the application of shore protection and regulatory reform. These investments are part of a powerful agenda on marine environment policy, focusing on improving the marine environment of the Baltic Sea, as well as the Skagerrak and Kattegat.
Together with climate, the marine environment will be in focus during Sweden´s EU Presidency, with Sweden taking on a leading role in the regional and international work on saving our seas.
